Bovey Castle Wedding Photography – Devon Wedding

At the beginning of June I made way down to Bovey castle situated in the heart of Devon in the beautiful Dartmoor National Park.  It was the first time I would meet with Aliya & Jonathan who live and work in the Netherlands

It was good to meet and chat about their wedding day and I when I left them to make my way to accommodation by the sea I began to feel excited about photographing their special day.

The following morning I arrived at the castle over an hour early as it was the jubilee weekend and I did not want to risk getting lost if any roads where closed for street parties.  I was spoilt by the staff who seated me in the library with a cappuccino.  Unfortunately and almost predictably it rained for most the afternoon. This really has been the wettest wedding season I have ever witnessed.  The rain however did not spoil the day.

Once Aliya was ready for me I made my way up to the room where Aliya and everyone was getting ready.   There was a very relaxed and happy atmosphere in the room.  Later Jonathan joined Aliya and her lovely russian family and friends.

Following an intimate ceremony and a drinks reception everyone made their way to the room where they would be dining.  I loved the layout and ambience of the reception table with just one long table that seating all the guests lit by candles with gentle music playing.

I was so over the moon when I received this message from Aliya

Jonathan and I wanted to say a big thank you for all your efforts at our wedding day, all our guests were very fond of you as well, they loved both your charm and professionalism 🙂 Pictures look fantastic….I don’t have words…only emotions..I am not surprised about the quality though, I knew I had a very reliable person to take them and it came out as excellent as I expected! 🙂 thank you so so much for being there for us!
